Climate Conversation II : West Coast
October 14 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pmFree
A Virtual Round Table
COVID-19 has changed the way every business operates in order to have a healthy workforce. As your partner in health and connecting with great women, we’re here to support your care so you have the resources to support your well-being. We will orchestrate Zoom calls through 2021 to be sure you all have a safe place to connect!
For our next event, YOU are the center of attention for this unique event. We have been challenged by a non-partisan group of leaders to hold an event where people can share their hopes, fears, ideas, and current commitments to the challenges posed by climate change.
But first a little background…
The West Coast is on fire. It’s almost apocalyptic. People are losing their homes, and loved ones. Farmers and their animals are particularly at risk of damage to their health. Droughts and heat waves are progressively getting more intense. The list goes on….
Although the topic of “Climate Change” is nothing new, there has NEVER been a more urgent moment to come together, consider new ideas. and take action. We ALL have a responsibility to love and care for our only home: Planet Earth.
The first Climate Conversation (CC1) convened in Washington, D.C. in January 2020. The torch, and responsibility, has now been passed to us. It is our turn to plant the seed, and continue to talk, and inspire each other to make even the smallest changes in our daily lives and in our communities.
Please join us for a unique virtual round table conversation.
Please be prepared to answer one of these questions…
1. What evidence for/against the climate crisis is the most compelling to you?
2. Given that over 70% of greenhouse gas emissions come from 100 companies, what do you think are the best steps we can take as a society/ community to mitigate climate change?
3. The different things we can do to reduce your contribution to the climate crisis are ranked here:
What things do you notice about this, and how does it impact your decisions about actions you can take?
4. What do you think the tipping point will be for our society to decide to make real changes to mitigate the climate crisis?
5. What are your biggest fears/ concerns about the climate crisis?
6. Following this conversation, what is the one thing you’re committed to doing or changing to make an impact on the climate crisis?
This night is not about politics, or science. This night will not have a series of speakers. On this night, YOU are the keynote speakers. This is your chance to be heard, listen, and connect with a diverse group of leaders from across the nation, on how we can make our environment healthier and more sustainable.
We are grateful for your willingness to be a part of the solution, and are excited to have you on board the Climate Conversation community.
“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, Nothing is going to get better. It’s not.” – The Lorax
